An Ocean Between Us was born in January 2008, by mutual decision to kick asses in the so-called modern metal scene. Inspired by huge names like Bullet For My Valentine, Atreyu, In Flames, Avengend Sevenfold, Trivium, the band never meant to be a clone of somebody else; fired up by the personal twists each member wanted to bring to the band, time was not wasted and songs quickly flowed out in the reharsal room, where the five dudes honed their craft to the maximum, finetuning every single riff, melody, scream and song structure. The five ‘Drowning’ masterpieces were born, and studio time booked in October, the same year; the only thing that stopped An Ocean Between Us to record their debut cd in a fastest-debut-record-ever fashion was a major incovenience with their now former drummer.
Did everything fell apart? Not. One. Bit. Thinking they already wasted enough time, Marco was quickly recruited and he underwent an intensive reharsal sessions period (not to mention tons of gigs, including a glorious New Year’s Eve party at New Age Club, one of the most renowned venues in Italy), until studio was booked for February 2009. An Ocean Between Us is about everything that metal should be in the 00’s: fast, heavy riffs, screaming, memorable choruses, memorable singing and guitar harmonies. ‘Drowning’ is here to prove it to you.
And this is just the beginning; the band, which can already count on a thick and loyal army of fans, is planning to film a video for the smash sing-a-long hit ‘Shoreless Love Song’, touring extensively through Italy and releasing a full length debut album next year. Things couldn’t look brighter, and wait ‘til you hear the songs on ‘Drowning’…
