All for Nothing

All For Nothing is a female fronted hardcore band from south-side Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Behind the in-your-face hardcore, you will find metal and punk-rock influences in their music, all contributing to their own unique style. All For Nothing was founded by Ernst-Jan Smits (Guitar and Vocals), Richard van Liessum (Drums), Marcel Helder (Guitar) and Normen Sam-Sin (Bass) in the beginning of 2002. After a long period finding out what direction the band should go they finally played their first gig in the beginning of 2003. Their style of music was much appreciated and welcomed by the various audiences they played for. After a years hard work, playing in many venues a long the way, they started working on their first album release. Their first album Start at Zero was released in July 2004. Start at Zero was produced and recorded by Patrick DeLabie at Studio 195 in Wernhout (NL). The album got great reviews in- and outside the Netherlands by renowned music magazines as well as online music websites. Soon after the Start at Zero album release Marcel Helder got replaced by Melvin Sam-Sin. In 2005 All For Nothing had a capital line-up change. They finally found a suitable lead vocalist personified by Cindy van der Heijden. Her accession has improved All For Nothing's overall sound and results into an even more dynamic stage performance. Because of this All For Nothing decided to record a 4 song demo to let their fans in on the new female fronted hardcore sound. The demo was well received by the fans and media throughout Europe. Another major line-up change comes to pass. Founding All For Nothing member Normen Sam-Sin decided to end his musical activities. Just like in 2004 the search for a new dedicated member didn't take too long. A few weeks later, Badr van der Meijden (The Cravers), joined All For Nothing as their new bass player. In the winter of 2006 All For Nothing recorded their first full length album Can't Kill whats Inside. The album was recorded by Badr van der Meijden at the Waterfront Studio in Rotterdam (NL) and was mixed by Dirk Miers in De Studio (BE). The final mastering was done by Alan Douches (West West Side Music) in the United States. The 12 songs on this album give a good impression of what to expect of All For Nothing : Female fronted, high energetic hardcore songs, sing-a-long choruses, punishing beat-down passages and melodic riffs all based on various influences. The album also contains guest vocals by some of All For Nothing close friends, Marco en Dennis (Payback) Henk (Moment of Truth), Dennie (Fist of Fury) and Dries (Second Chance). The official release date for All For Nothing's first full length album Can't Kill whats Inside was the 18th of May 2007 through Swellcreek Records (GER). August 2007 both guitarist Melvin Sam-Sin and bassist Badr van der Meijden decided to leave All For Nothing due to personal changes. Two weeks later they got replaced by Abdulla Al-tamimi (ex Throwing Bricks) on bass and Sebastiaan Buijsman (ex Samaritan) on guitar. All For Nothing did various European tour to promote their new album and is determined to continue to do so to establish their name and promote their album.
