Face The King is an alternative hard rock band based out of Long Island, New York. Formed on June 14, 2009, Face the King consists of four former members of critically acclaimed bands SEER, STEREO SERENADE and THE MERCURIAL. In just a few short months Face the King has established themselves as the Long Island band to watch. and “a force to be reckoned with in 2010” (Lyrical Lust).
?
Face the King is Eric Zirlinger (singer/guitarist/keyboardist), Dan DelVecchio (backup vocals, guitar), Joey None (bass, backup vocals), and Anthony Soriano (drummer). Face The King self produced and recorded their debut 3 song self titled EP, mixed by Mike Watts, Vudu Studios, and released it to a huge response. Lyrical Lust described the bands EP as having “such a unique and amazing sound.”
?
While Face The King’s influences range from Kings of Leon, Radiohead, Dredg, Silversun Pickups, as well as many others, the inspiration for Face The King’s music comes from the band itself and the creative spark between it’s members. Face the King’s sound is emotive and dramatic, with huge guitar riffs and “a singer whose voice could rival Chris Cornell” (Lyrical Lust).
?
Face The King recently finished their new EP “The Burning & The Falling Down.” Produced by the legendary Steve Haigler (the Pixies, Brand New, Fuel) at VuDu Studio in Port Jefferson, Long Island. “The Burning & The Falling Down” is the sound of a band discovering themselves. Face The King went into the studio to simply record new material. The end result was far more than anyone – band and fan alike could have expected. Powerful and emotive with ethereal guitars, gut wrenching bass tones, intense drums, orchestrations, pianos, and the signature vocals that melodically soar – and screams seemingly pulled from a raw and visceral place that singers today seem to have forgotten.
?
The single “The Burning & The Falling Down” is already on regular rotation at local FM radio stations. The second song on the new EP, “Parachutes,” was recently featured in the independent film “Shadowplay” and recently won Best Song in a local indie film festival. All of this before the EP has even been released.

After months of recording and rehearsing Face The King is ready to take the stage this summer. They packed out The Crazy Donkey (Club Loaded) to kick off the summer and are following it up with a Friday night slot at the Blender Theater at Gramercy – Face The King invites everyone to listen to new EP and to come and sing along at the summer shows. Often encouraging fans to come on stage to sing with them – Face The King believes that the live show is an experience that is shared between the band and the audience. Currently playing to packed houses all around Long Island, Face The King is earning the reputation as a band you need to experience live.
