Jindra (Forbidden Society) hails from the south of the Czech Republic. His musical journey began in the start of 1998, when him and his longtime friend JayB started to fiddle around with electronic music production. It was this year that they had founded the hardcore-speedcore-jungle project ‘’Desert Storm Breakcore Squad’’ which turned out to be merely a stepping stone for Jindra. At a certain point he felt like walking his own path, so there for Jindra created his first solo monicker ‘’Noize Punishment’’
From the more harsh work he came up with during the seven years he worked under this alias he gradually felt a stronger lean to the firmer side of Drum & Bass music. Being someone that has a ongoing passion for Punk, Metal and Grindcore from when he was young, Jindra decided to try and merge them all together. The plan succeeded but left the young Czech in need of a new alias.
A suitable name for such a project with sundry influences seemed ‘’Forbidden Society’’
After several well received outputs on a vary of prominent labels, Jindra still longed the unfulfilled dream of starting his very own label. After the initial launch in 2010 ‘’Forbidden Society Recordings’’ quickly became a strong show window for Forbidden Society originals. Being a very ambitious label owner Jindra managed to rise the anticipation by pulling in well respected names such as Current Value, Counterstrike, Donny, Katharsys, Dub Elements and Receptor. Despite this fact Jindra kept a close eye on the talents in his home country which resulted in the signing of fellow Czech ‘’Computerartist’’
2012 ushered in a new era for Forbidden Society, which saw the launch of his first full length debut LP ‘’To The Treshold’’.Naturally this has been released through his self-titled imprint. The album was received with critical acclaim and resulted in an international tour to Japan short after. The other 12’’s on the Czech label also keep on a selling in substantial numbers. This makes Forbidden Society Recordings one of the rare Drum & Bass labels still pushing physical products in this merely digital era.
In order to stay in touch with the offline fan base, the Czech of all trades turned to Prague’s Cross Club for a bi monthly event that’s linked to the label and was created to showcase new releases. Not rarely, fans from all over Europa show up the infamous label nights to see the stalwarts of the label flourish behind the decks. The latter fact resulted in label nights in other parts of Europe and even as far as Japan.
As for future planning, Jindra is not holding back. His travels reach as far as Japan (3rd time) and Russia (the world’s biggest D&B event- Pirate Station) this year and the Czech of all trades is also preparing more label night action as the last edition (with audio) was completely sold out. It’s not likely that 2014 will be a calm year in camp FS.
