專輯名源于The Velvet Underground在1985年發(fā)行的精選作品《VU》，著墨于字首大寫的的起始意義，Arctic Monkeys細細琢磨隱微破碎的生活片段，在英國金榜Top8的矚目話題新作〈Why`d You Only Call Me When You`re High?〉中， Alex Turner讓酒精激發(fā)的幻影，投射出現(xiàn)代科技和人性彼此衝突又相輔相成的複雜情緒，反諷意味濃烈大膽。
《AM》 姿態(tài)優(yōu)雅的汲取當(dāng)代Hip-Hop節(jié)奏，廣泛吸納來自Dr. Dre、Outkast及Aaliyah等街頭韻律，揉合出帶著鮮明鬱抑的現(xiàn)代啟示，Alex張力奔放的描寫愛欲、期待之馀，Hip-Hop像是刻意壓低 態(tài)度的野性，總在暗處蓄勢待發(fā)又伺機而動；〈Fireside〉在搖滾嘻哈的衝撞間展現(xiàn)異色的美麗動感，「There`s all these secrets that I can`t keep, Like in my heart there`s this hotel suite」正是Arctic Monkeys灑脫糾結(jié)的宣示；〈I Want It All〉直白道出世代不滅的詭奇，「老狗玩新戲」的糗樣，又怎麼逃的出Arctic Monkeys揶揄銳利的眼光？

Commercially, AM has become Arctic Monkeys' most successful album to date, topping the charts in several countries, and reaching the top 10 positions in many more. In the United Kingdom, Arctic Monkeys broke a record with AM, becoming the first independent-label band to debut at number one in the UK with their first five albums.
