California screamo band A Skylit Drive will be releasing their new album “Rise: Ascension” through Tragic Hero Records on January 6th of 2015. The record is an acoustic interpretation of their recent release “Rise.”
A Skylit Drive has been teasing a big announcement for the last few months by way of releasing several videos featuring vocalist Michael “Jag” Jagmin and guitarist Nick Miller performing acoustic renditions of songs from their recent album Rise. Last week, the news broke that the band has in fact recorded an acoustic re-invention of their critically acclaimed album in the form of Rise: Ascension and it will be released via Tragic Hero Records on January 6th.
Today, you can pre-order the album and receive an instant download of the first single “Pendulum.” For the new record, the band enlisted platinum producer Jim Wirt (Incubus, Something Corporate, The Rocket Summer) who worked with the band on the pre-production of Rise. They didn’t simply plug in acoustic guitars and record coffee shop versions of the songs however; they instead re-worked the pieces into standalone compositions featuring piano, cello, bass, and other assorted instruments.
In promotion with the new record, A Skylit Drive has released a brand new line of merch available exclusively through the Tragic Hero Records online store.
