When a mutual friend introduced Germans Frank Spinath and Martin Vorbroot to each other, they both felt their personalities were too different to form a successful band. Soon, however, the contradictions started working in their favor, and the diverse electro-industrial sound of Seabound was born. One of their demos caught the attention of Dependent Records and the label released their debut, No Sleep Demon, in 2001. Tours of Europe and America with Covenant and Stromkern followed and in 2002, the American label Metropolis signed the band. Metropolis issued their second album, Beyond Flatline, in 2004.
