by Drago BonacichAfter issuing three successful records (Mar Adentro, Entre la Linea del Bien y la Linea del Mal, and De Hombre A Mujer) and while participating in a popular duet called Donato & Estefano, Donato Poveda decided to go on his own by the end of the year 2000, signing up with BMG as a solo artist in February 2001.
A talented singer/songwriter, Donato composed Chayanne's single hit "Solamente Tu Amor" for his 1996 album Volver A Nacer and Gilberto Santa Rosa's "Dejate Querer," from his 1999 Expresión. In addition, his contributions can be found on the 1997 Emanuel Ortega self-titled record and the 2001 Alexandre Pires debut album.
