Deja Voodoo Band is a high energy Rock/Blues band featuring gritty, emotional vocals, virtuosic guitar playing, rich keyboard sounds & a tight pounding rhythm section. From their hometown, Cleveland, Ohio, they have grown into a solid group since their beginning in 2001, making a mark in their city and now sending their sounds across the states and the big pond. These veteran players have paid their dues and can boast a long list of credits including many national performers and bands.
Guitarist Mark Verba’s style of guitar licks and tasteful blues solos grew out of his start in metal bands at the age of sixteen. Verba soon joined older players and learned to love the blues while maintaining his fast style and love of tone. Verba’s influences include Gary Moore, Walter Trout and Ritchie Kotzen. He has become an expert on what it takes to make an amp, guitar, pedals, and pickups work as one instrument. Mark has become a tone addict always looking for the perfect mix. When Verba plays guitar the other axe folk come to watch.

Keyboardist Ken Hrezik joined DVB after deciding to return to his rock roots. Ken played keyboards in several high profile Cleveland rock bands in the 70s. “Kenny Keys” started playing accordion when he was five and would perform solo & with bands at private events into his teen years.
In 2006 Ken hooked up with DVB. The band was already a tight four piece group and when Ken added his expertise the song writing and stage sound went to new heights. Hrezik notes that his main influences have been Todd Rundgren, Jon Lord, Elton John and Greg Allman among others.
Vocalist Rick Starnoni

Rick has been studying and performing music for over forty years. His versatility as a vocalist and varied musical interests have put him in front of big bands, show bands, jazz bands, vocal bands, musical stage productions, and of course rock/blues bands. Rick has been playing the Cleveland club and private party circuit since the mid 70's in bands like Mirage, Jester, The Saphires, and R-Kive. Currently, in addition to being the newest member of The Deja Voodoo Band, Rick plays Jake Blues in the Cleveland based show band The Brothers Blues.

The rhythm section for Deja Voodoo consists of

Erol Summer
Erol was born in London, England to a musical family. He picked up the bass as a teenager in Cleveland and has been performing on the local scene ever since. Comfortable with many styles of music, Erol is a sought after sideman who's been seen playing as many as six gigs in one week with six different bands! Erol's bass influences include players like John Paul Jones, Chris Squire, Jeff Berlin, Stanley Clarke, Nate Watts, Victor Wooten and Stu Hamm. A fervent bass collector, Erol enjoys setting up and modifying his instruments, often to include Roland synthesizer access. Although he considers himself a bassist first, Erol frequently receives compliments on his vocal ability and can be heard singing everything from Allman Brothers to Pink Floyd.

Drummer Jeff Capps
As a kid Jeff’s dad was into big band and jazz music. As a result he became aware of and enjoyed the talent of some of the great drummers of that era...Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa and Ed Schaunessy to name a few. Then, in February 1964, he saw the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show and there was no turning back, music and the drums became a major force in his life. He lists his early drum influences as Ringo Starr, Ginger Baker, Keith Moon and latter influences as Narada Michael Walden, Simon Phillips and a great local drummer and good friend Mark Frazier. Jeff is also a self-taught novice keyboard player/guitarist who enjoys composing and recording music in his small home studio. Over the years Jeff has played in many local cover bands. Park Ave., Shooter and R-kive were some of his favorites. He is excited to be the newest member of the Deja Voodoo Band and is looking forward to driving the bands rocking sound.
