I started off playing piano, but got bored of playing by the rules, so taught myself guitar. I started writing songs at 14, and at the age of 18 went to south east asia where I found myself a Kim (Thai hammered dulcimer). I then fell in love with the harp, got myself a mini one, and learned how to write songs with it. Years of moving around meant I'd forgotten about the piano, as I couldn't take it with me to places. Recently, I've remembered my original love for the piano, and also got a Celeste, which is like a portable piano which sounds lovely. I travel lots and play music all over the place. I still haven't found a way to take a piano on the road with me, so I seek them everywhere. If i can't find one, then I play harp, guitar, Kim or Dulcitone. My second album is due to come out on the Leaf Label in August. My first album 'battle and Victory', along with two 7" singles, were released on the Leaf Label last year. My E.P 'The Wheel Turning King' has nearly sold out on Timbreland Recordings, which is Manchester based label run by my dearest friends. I've also been working with others... Susuma Yokota's album is out now on Lo Recordings. He's a Japanese electronica artist with whom I recently collaborated. James Yorkston's album, which I contributed many things to, should be out before summer time on Domino. I'm doing a scattering of shows, but will be touring more extensively around the time of my album release. I'll put all the shows up on here and my website as they come.
